I have started a painting of an eventide rabbit with subdued colours. I’d like to get the effect of the rabbit almost camouflaged by its surroundings, keeping a watchful eye out before nibbling on the flowers. This will take a few more layers to get the depth I am after, but already some lovely subtle patterns are forming as the paints mix on the surface. Most of my previous rabbit paintings have been bright and colourful, but this time I hope to capture the bunny with a natural nocturnal theme. Hopefully it will turn out well, and not end up heading towards an evening in my dustbin. UPDATE – this is now finished and up for sale.
