I really enjoyed watching Sky Arts Artist of the year this year, so sad that Frank Skinner will not be one of the presenters next year. Watching that series on demand encouraged me into attempting my first ever watercolour portrait, and here it is. It’s David Tennant, with a couple of blokes in the way (Frank Skinner & Tai-Shan Schierenberg) by Sophie Huddlestone.

I was so thrilled when the official SkyArts TV program’s twitter @SkyArts commented on this painting (on my @CreativeMrsH twitter). They wrote: This looks amazing Sophie! Sure @FrankOnTheRadio would be very pleased with how he’s come out here. #WittyBanter

On instagram I follow Sky Arts Artist Of The Year @skyartsartistoftheyear and was so chuffed they ‘liked’ this painting on Instagram too, plus they also started to ‘follow’ me @creativemrsh which was a double whammy.

It has given me the needed confidence to try more portraits.
